I received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Studio Art from Lock Haven University in the early 1990s, where I had the pleasure of meeting my husband. At that time, he introduced me to the awe-inspiring Pine Creek Valley, which left a lasting impression on me. I always dreamed of having a studio in this peaceful location, and that dream came true when we moved to Cedar Run in 2021. I have lived in various places, from the Catskills in New York to Central and Southeast Pennsylvania and Northeast Ohio, but Cedar Run remains my favorite place by far. The mountains around this valley inspire me. They remind me of my childhood in the Catskills. The trees, views from the overlooks, scenery along the Pine Creek Rail Trail, and diverse wildlife inspire my paintings.
My studio is the place where I feel nourished and rejuvenated. As an artist, I believe that my purpose is to create, and every time I pick up my brush, I am filled with a deep sense of meaning. Acrylic paint on canvas or board is my go-to medium to create my paintings, which range in themes from Abstract Intuitive Design to Florals, Landscapes, or Wildlife. Besides Acrylics, I also enjoy working with Pen and Ink, Watercolor, and Pencil. Sometimes, I use a combination of mixed media or techniques to achieve the desired texture, look, or emotion for a particular piece or series. I aim to create artwork that delicately stirs emotions and memories within those who observe it.
When I am not painting, you will most likely find me curled up with a good book, taking leisurely walks in nature, experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen, indulging in some puzzles, or taking slow drives along the winding mountain roads with my husband, enjoying the simple pleasures of life.
